Back to the Happiest Country on Earth

June 27, 2015

Well, other than getting bruised by a drawer and being bit by millions of mosquitoes, I'm gonna have to say I am extremely happy about my trip to Costa Rica. After years of waiting, God opened up a path for me to finally visit my old home. Let me tell you about how I almost didn't go to Costa Rica.

It all started with my friends sending me snaps (yes, snapchat [ADD ME: st4rlyte]) about how they were excited to go to Costa Rica. First reaction: What? Second reaction: What about me? I ain't got no email. Of course, I was extremely upset about how my fellow MK's got an email while I did not. One of my best friends forwarded the email to my dad and turns out... I was supposed to get the email too.
I started crying when my dad told me I was gonna go in a few months time. Ah, the tears of joy.

The next couple of months went by with exams and essays. Airport day came and I was so scared about traveling alone for the first time. But, of course, everything went by smoothly and I arrived in the happiest country on earth.
Reverse the route and just add 500 miles to it.
I got to revisit the parks I used to hang out at, restaurants I ate at, and my church I used to praise the Lord in. Even though I was bummed out about not being able to revisit my old youth group (they were in vacations), I still felt blessed with the people I did get to meet in my short trip to San José.

I even got to watch Jurassic World with some friends and let me just say, Chris Pratt doe. He was so FINE.

On Sunday, I got to eat dinner with a friend (who decided to change it from lunch to dinner since it was Father's day [how dare she dump me {jk}]) and I was incredibly happy with my weekend spent in the capital of CR.
Monday rolled around and it was time for me to go to Punta Leona to participate in the MK 2015 ALIGN retreat. I was PUMPED. Let me tell you how pumped I was. 1) I could barely sleep (that's probably normal for most people) 2) I woke up with my heart POUNDING on Monday morning and 3) my mind was going 3,000 mph and my thoughts sounded a little like "wjqkejwndosnfeiosp."

Reunions are the moments I treasure most in life. The moments of seeing the beautiful faces of my best friends again were filled with squeals, laughter, and "OH MAH GAWSH IT'S BEEN FUREVER. I CAN'T BELEBE DIS IS HAPPENIN'!!!"

The ones who arrived that morning were put on a bus and we made our way to the beaches of Punta Leona to start our week with getting to know God and having fellowship with one another.
