Amazing how time flies!
Three days ago, as our family started packing, the fact that we were moving to a new country finally sunk in. The emotions of being happy, morose, excited, and nervous mixed in a way nobody would understand except God.
It seemed as if it was yesterday that we arrived in Dallas, Texas and got to see familiar faces as we had to stay 10 months (previously planned) for our stateside assignment. When the news that our time was being extended to a whole year got my ears, honestly, at first I was a bit.. frustrated. I didn't want to get too attatched to our church or school since I've already experienced the hurt that we all felt when we first said our good byes in 2009.
After brooding about the news, of having an extra two or three months, it took me around two weeks to decide on making the most of what I got. I felt God was telling me to use the time He gave me to, not only to my advantage, but to everyone else's advantage. With this kind of perspective, I did my best to make myself and the others around me as happy as I could with God's help. Being human, I did have some rough days, but with God's Word, I got by :)
Having this goal in mind, I had an amazing two and a half months with my friends and even my family (since my brother came to visit for the summer). Without any regrets, I didn't care about getting hurt when the time to say good bye came... Because I knew it wouldn't be a good bye but a "see you soon".
